An investigation was carried out to the CEC Santa Helena IPS in order to identify the possible barriers of access to the prenatal control service by the patients and to identify its incidence in the figures of maternal morbidity of the municipality of Palmira. To this end, information was requested from the IPS about the patients in the center and permission was requested to conduct a survey asking them about the perceived barriers. The investigation concludes that, although there is no late income refill related to barriers in IPS, patients can identify some problems when accessing the service. These include the lack of money, the lack of family support in the process and the identification of administrative barriers. It is proposed to improve awareness-raising strategies about the service that highlight its benefits from an early age in the community.
