Redes sociales y su importancia en la gestión del riesgo de desastres en Colombia
Abstract
This article discusses the usefulness of social networks in disaster risk management in Colombia and their contribution to emergency prevention before, during and after calamities. With the data analyzed it was observed that social networks are the ideal means of communication when spreading a news story or fact that occurred, facilitating the propagation of information in shorter response times. Being a very helpful tool to evaluate threats and obtain information that allow us to take action from future risks; gaining greater control over the situation. It describes the use of applications that allow to report on disasters in real time, visualize their evolution and transform communication between the system and users. Finally, we can visualize that risk management in Colombia, supported by social networks, has been showing positive contributions, preparing and collecting more and more data from a connected world that will allow us to have a significant reduction in risk in our environment
